John Steinbeck's unforgettable novel gets a fine adaptation in this film. Of Mice and Men follows the lives of a migrant farm worker (director Gary Sinese) and his mentally handicapped companion (John Malkovich).
They find some work on a California farm, but Lenny's simple mind unintentionally brings them tragedy. The story is familiar to anyone who took a high school English class, but this film conveys the themes of the narrative with depth and compassion.
Malkovich in particular does an excellent job in his role.
