Review of Of Gods and Men (2010) by Shubhra R — 27 Mar 2011
One of the most fascinating and moving films I have seen; it portrayed steadfast convictions coexisting with deep dilemmas, principles without sanctimony and a love for humanity that frankly, I can't claim to understand.
Climaxing in the most overwhelming cinematic scenes I have experienced in a long time - with Tchaikovsky playing on an old recorder, facing the meaning of my own mortality in the steady, gentle and worn eyes and faces of each of the monks.
