At a certain point my mother-in-law said: Let's hope they kill'em quickly! The problem with this notable tribute to the sacrifice of Christian monks in Algeria is that nothing happens. A long and self-indulgent wait for the inevitable end, this movie requires a certain dose of personal religious fundamentalism to stand through.
