Review of Ode to My Father (2014) by Carlos M — 02 Feb 2015
Spanning decades and several historical events from Korean War, post War era, 1960s industrialization, the Vietnam War, it was really heart wrenching. I think it works well across cultures. The subtitles were well done and translated the film as best as translations go.
Being Korean, I was fortunate to not only "read" but understand the language, nuances, and significance of the events portrayed in the story of one man and his family. Almost guaranteed to make you cry.
