Odd Thomas feels much more like a series pilot than a film. It spends at least a third of the run time explaining the characters and Odd Thomas' abilities, and has the feeling of a narrative testing itself out.
And although I like Anton Yelchin in general, his voice is not well suited as a narrator. All and all, this is a swing and a miss.
