Even though Mike Flanagan's Absentia is a decent horror film despite its lack of scares, Oculus is an improvement. It is more interesting, more scary, and better acting then Absentia. Even though it has a character that obviously doesn't believe his own sister and thinks it's something else, he actually has some compelling arguments that people would actually take his side of it.

The sister has compelling counter-arguments too against him but it seem obvious who's right based on the trailer, but the arguments were good enough to give it a pass. Oculus is very spooky and there was some times that I got scared.

I like the psychological aspect of Oculus and makes you wonder if it's real or not. I like the fact that even though I knew that the kids in the past survived, it was still interesting enough to wonder how they got through it.

I did knew what was going to happen a bit at the end, but Oculus is an entertaining and spooky horror film that people should go see.
