Review of Oculus (2014) by Reid S — 22 Sep 2014
Not terribly original but still a decent enough film. They did a good job with the parallel story telling and shifting from the past to present and even the overlapping time-lines worked. Had they spent more time developing the impact the mirror had on the parents, it would have been far more effective.
As a result some of the acting seemed a little off - most notably Rory Cochrane's performance was too wooden from start to finish. Special effects were good and there was some nice work with camera angles and sound effects.
Worth watching if you like suspenseful movies.
