Review of Oculus (2014) by Trey V — 18 Sep 2015

A couple of strong performances from two young actors made up for the short comings of this movies leading roles. And the abundance of plot holes were met with a 'nevermind that, look at this crazy thing', Which to me screams lazy writing.

With all this being said.. I can't help but to feel like there was some kind of sub-plot being witnessed in this film.. A hidden message. Not sure, but the film intrigued me nonetheless.

Verdict:

I loved the idea, just wasn't sold on the execution. Even with that the film had some good old fashioned 'don't look behind you' moments and ultimately did it's job horrifying with little to no cheap/jump scares.
