Review of Oculus (2014) by James W — 31 Oct 2015

I remember seeing the trailer for Oculus and remember thinking it looked pretty decent, but not a film I was going to see in the theater and I guess it just kind of fell off my radar and I never thought about the film again until Halloween this year where I saw it on Netflix.

I liked Oculus quite a bit and felt it was really smart for a horror film (not sure if it was really smart or if the director didn't know how the middle should go as even I was a little confused).

The film tells 2 stories at once and I liked that even though how they overlapped at times felt forced and actually hurt the film a little. I liked the scares quite a bit and Stacey even screamed very loud at one part.

The film was very creepy and pretty cool at the same time. Overall, I was glad I gave Oculus a chance on Halloween and enjoyed this horror film.
