Review of Octopussy (1983) by John E — 20 Apr 2009
Moore is really starting to show his age here, but it's not distracting...yet (see A View to a Kill). Good solid action, exotic locales and beautiful women ensures this movie covers all the Bond bases.
While the humor is more prevalent than in the previous movie, Octopussy manages to strike a fine balance between humor and seriousness, thanks in large part to a very down-to-earth Cold War plot and of course, Moore's inimitable wit and panache.
Another excellent score as well provided by John Barry. This would have made a fine sendoff for Moore's tenure as James Bond.
