Review of Octopussy (1983) by Steve J — 25 Sep 2010
Like 'For Your Eyes Only' the classically insane moments of mental Bond scripting are toned down, but Moore's age is becoming and issue at this point, it's mad watching him run around (the Tarzan moment had me in stitches).
The film has good pace but the plot us unremarkable and the stakes aren't very high until the last fifteen minutes when you realise what's actually been going on. The circus stuff is really, really silly along with alligator subs and union jack air balloons, but it's no worse than the other Moore Bond 'classics'.
