(1983) Octopussy.
ACTION/ ADVENTURE.
Easily one of three best James Bond films in terms of death defying stunts and innovative action sequences, which were easily inspired by countless of other popular action films, including Indiana Jones, Tarzan and Firefox to name a few. Except this one includes action sequences NEVER seen before and is real and may have started the trend for more action films to do the same, and without any CGI, such as hanging outside onto a plane, dangling on the side of a moving train which can easily kill someone if they're not careful enough and actual acrobatic female gymnists act as circus performers performing flips on limited space! Agree with film critic Leonard Maltin stating that this film showcases every kind of stunt imagined except for the kitchen sink- this includes planes, cars doing stunts, circus animals, trains, hot air balloons, throwing knives, exotic animals such as tigers and snakes (how to prevent from getting attack from them in a real life situtaion), riding horses, and spinning saw blades, fire, swords and coal. And anybody who doesn't like this film are NEVER action buffs because this was made way before most 80's action flicks!
This film can best be appreciated by watching it in segments since the stunts themselves can be death defying watching it performed in real life and very surprised that no one was even killed during the making of it!
What I also appreciate about this film, is that this film showcases what is humanly possible for a single man to do, such as hanging onto plane or hang onto the side of a train- not that the film is condoning these stunts to be duplictated, echoed or performed in real life for Youtubers!
4 out of 4.
