Review of Octopussy (1983) by Troy F — 31 Oct 2012
Octopussy takes itself seriously, but can be quite silly in many moments, like the scene where he's swinging on the vines and... well I'll leave that for the viewer to see. It's also overlong too for a Bond film, maybe it's just the pace I suppose, and plot wise there's quite a bit going on that can sometimes be a bit hard to follow.
Cons aside, this is a great Bond film with excellent villain characters and Octopussy being one of the most beautiful and best Bond girls I've seen in a while in the series. The action is a real romp too with nice settings but an awkward range from India to Berlin to even involving a circus act with Bond dressed as a clown! Well hey, it's more plausible than Bond in space!
