Review of Octopussy (1983) by Chris U — 10 Nov 2012
Octopussy is obviously another big budget, larger than life production, but in comparison to some of the more stellar Bond films, it fails to evoke much more of a reaction than, "meh." My bias as a Bond fan is really the only reason it earns as much stars as it does, and it doesn't hurt that this is the fourth film in a row to feature a fantastic pre-titles sequence.
Maud Adams makes a welcome return to the series, this time in the role of the title character. The action is better executed than some of Moore's other outings as 007, clearly showing that at least he's trying.
The tuk-tuk chase through India is thrilling, and the climax provides an exciting end to a some boring villains. At least it's better than the other Bond film released in '83.
