Review of Octopussy (1983) by Senor C — 29 Jun 2011
Octopussy could have been a great Bond flix w/ a villian w/ 8 viginas. Sadly it didn't turn out that way & I thought what a great title wasted & I found this to be a pretty pedestrian entry in the series.
Even for Roger Moore. It tries to get frantic @ the end as 007 tries to disarm a bomb @ the circus but I was having a really hard time swallowing the outlashish lasp of time. I just didn't buy that he could have pulled it off in time or @ all.
Sure these movies make you swallow a pretty hard pill but this one made me gag on it. I was actually surprised looking into this that it had a very good theatre run. When I was a kid it was playing @ the same theatre as Return of the Jedi & no body was going to see it.
Plus it had to go up against Never Say Never Again & beating out the return of Connery.
