Review of October Sky (1999) by Edward B — 11 Nov 2017
This is one of my all time favorites. It's inspiring, funny, and even sad. The story consists of Homer Hickam Jr., who lives in the mining town of Coalwood where you either go to college on a football scholarship, or work in the coal mine.
Homer baffles everyone by trying to build rockets. He enlists the help of his friends and an unpopular nerd genius to try and show the town that they can win the science fair against all odds. It's got lovable characters and a great storyline.
I love it.
