Review of October Baby (2011) by Ben C — 24 Mar 2012
Let me just put it this way. When I walked out of the theater, I tried but could not think of sufficient words to express my feelings about the movie. All I could do was look into my friends' eyes and utter one word, "wow." The cinematics were absolutely stunning, the characters intriguing, and the storyline heart-moving. But that is not why I was at such a loss for words. No, the reason for my silence and reflection was rooted in the fact that this type of thing is happening to women all over our country and the world! Millions of women each year exit abortion clinics with a heavy heart, a deep feeling of guilt about what they have done, and a decimated soul.
Their pain hurt me to the core.
It doesn't have to be like this. Women going through the crisis of a unplanned pregnancy do not have to end up with this ultimate trauma.
For women who have had an abortion, this movie is an amazing avenue through which the old and horrible wounds as a result of their terrible experience can heal.
I highly recommend watching this movie no matter what background you are coming from.
