Review of October Baby (2011) by Ann M — 28 Mar 2012
I'm not a professional movie critic, and not an expert on script writing, so I can't give an opinion on the technical or theatrical virtues of the movie. I can only say, as a physician who has witnessed the life-long impact that abortion can have on a woman, I thought the movie did a superb job in communicating the message of healing and forgiveness.
I was deeply moved by the film, which proves to me that the acting was believable. That is not an entirely accurate statement, because in one of the most powerful scenes of the movie, when the birth mother accepts the forgiveness of her daughter, we later discover that the actress was not acting at all.
I believe this movie could have a broad appeal to a diverse audience.
