With a message to relay, story telling takes a back seat on the long road to Mobile. Although stale acting and a heavy hand don't do "October Baby" any favors, the real problem is how clunky everything feels.
It's like the writers had a list of hot points, and they were going to get to them no matter what. Presenting a strong message is one thing, bad story telling is another.
