Review of October Baby (2011) by Francis Y — 05 Oct 2012
The power of forgiveness. The profoundly moving success in this quiet film is the quality of the eventual resolution of deep wounds in the lives of so many characters, once Hannah recognizes her power to forgive.
The only weakness was a plot shortcut which delivered one of the key answers she was seeking in just one encounter, but allowing that in real life her search would have taken longer, this script device can be forgiven, because it allowed more screen time for the stories of individuals to develop.
Warning: do not attempt to watch this film without a good supply of tissues. Highly recommended.
