Most movies that aren't supposed to have sequels tend to get progressively worse with each subsequent release, but the Oceans series does this weird thing where it dips down and goes up again. In other words, Thirteen is significantly better than Twelve.
They smartened up and realized the casino was where the story really needed to take place. All the cheesy elements from Twelve are gone, too (laser dancing, seriously, what was up with that nonsense).
