Review of Ocean's Thirteen (2007) by Alexander K — 21 Jun 2013
It's tough to live up to the legacy of a caper classic like Ocean's Eleven, but at least they're on the right track. The comedy was there, the characters and acting were there. It's quite entertaining, indeed.
However, these characters lack a true motive that drives them, which hurt the movie because you spend the whole time wondering why they're doing what they're doing. It's explained but only in brief passing, so the audience really doesn't get a good handle on it.
Aside from that though, they did a good job showing all sides of the scheme, and really improved on the catastrophe that was Ocean's Twelve. The one thing this movie lacks is true closure, which was a disappointment, but it's definitely a good way to kill a couple hours of your time if the need be.
