Review of Ocean's Eleven (2001) by Graeme E — 22 Jun 2013
One of the greatest heist movies I've seen in a while, Ocean's Eleven truly is a pleasure to watch. From the assembly of the team to the beautifully orchestrated heist itself, my eyes were glued to the screen eagerly anticipating what would transpire.
Pitt and Damon are the standouts, with Pitt playing the always calm right-hand man, and Damon playing an uneasy pickpocket recruited as a last-minute addition. The chemistry between each of the actors is really what makes each of these scenes pop, as well as the gorgeous visuals or Las Vegas casinos.
My only problem with the film is that I felt the love sub-plot was a bit forced and a bit unrealistic. Then again, this is a movie about eleven people stealing over a hundred million dollars, so it's easily overlooked.
Ocean's Eleven is a great time for anyone who's a fan of heist movies.
