Review of Ocean's Eleven (2001) by Ben B — 05 Aug 2014
Smart, exciting, and fast-paced, 'Ocean's Eleven' is a great action/crime thriller that is topped off by an excellent ensemble cast including George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Andy Garcia, and others.
Garcia is awesome as the cold Terry Benedict, whose casino Ocean's Eleven is trying to rob. Danny Ocean (Clooney) has just completed a term in prison but wants a chance at redemption, especially in wanted to get his girl (Roberts) back.
With the help of his friend Rusty (Pitt), Ocean recruits a team of experts with knowledge ranging in explosives (Cheadle in a hilarious supporting role), stealing, acrobatics, and disguise. While not a believable real-life situation, a little suspension in belief removes this problem and what's left is one great action movie.
Wholly entertaining but never dumbed down, 'Ocean's Eleven' is a must for action lovers looking for a more than stellar flick.
