Review of Ocean's Eleven (1960) by Movie K — 22 Nov 2009
Will be consider as a cool flick and original story back then. The group members are from the 82nd Airborne Division who served together in the WW2 together. Frank Sinatra & Peter Lawford reunties everyone for a big heist in Las Vegas, going to rob 5 casinos after New Year's Day.
Each have their own role. Mainly 2 persons per casino to work in. Richard Conte is in charge of the electrical box of all the casinos. He was just release from jail and got to know he is going to have a new stepdad Cesar Romero.
He told his mum the gang is having some reunion elsewhere. Dean Martin entertains in one of them. Sammy Davis Jr who drives a garbage truck will pick up the loot. They spray invisible paint on the doors and wearing a special glass they can see the colours in the dark.
They plant a bomb on the cable towers and after a few minutes from midnight while everyone is singing and celebrating, the bomb explode and the towers drop, knocking out the eletrical system. Then each and eveyone went in the safe and rob.
They dispose the bag full of money into garbage bins. Within a few minutes, the local sheriff were activated. Sammy Davis Jr picks up all the garbage and pass through the roadblock easily. Then hide the bags well.
Richard suddenly suffer heart attack and drop dead in the middle of the road. The sheriff reach him before Frank. Cesar was there and he make a deal with the casino managers he will catch who is behind this heist and wants a 30% cut.
He got to know that Richard is dead but no idea why is he in Vegas. When he is about to exhaust all the leads, his girlfriend the mum of Richard told him about Frank and the gang. Cesar then piece together the big picture.
He bribes the funeral parlour in-charge to call him if he spots anything unusual. And proceed to find Frank to make another deal that he wants 50% of the loot for him not to report. Off course they won't do that and at night throw in all the money into the coffin of Richard, with plans that his wife will come and collect the body and ship to San Francisco.
But when the wife arrived, she is convince to held the ceremony at the place instead. In the end the coffin was cremate along with all the money.
