Review of Ocean's Eleven (1960) by Alex A — 11 Nov 2011
As an avid fan of the Rat Pack, I might be a little biased here. But Frank, Deano, and Sammy have a great time playing con versions of.. well, themselves, and the result is an amusing few hours of a movie.
Was the remake better? Most likely. It had a sharper focus and carried itself as a sleek, stylish heist movie with some of the best names in the business forming a modern day Rat Pack. But even Clooney and the gang can't compare to the charm and personality Ol' Blue Eyes and the original Pack brought.
And while it doesn't have the edge or flare of the new Ocean's, the original has fun being cool and doesn't care who knows it.
