It was entertaining and okay overall. I would have liked, perhaps, marginally more of a connection with the previous episodes of the modern franchise. I can see what they were trying to achieve with the final scene, but it was not effective in the way it was clearly intended.
It has a good cast who did not do anything bad. As a stand alone film and piece of entertainment I think the most useful description I can give really is: "okay".
