This is a movie that goes out and tries really hard to prove a point and move the bar and all that jazz. What is that point? I guess that women can do anything men can. All the heist roles are the same, just a different gender.

so, cool, let's go out and make a real caper and have some fun. But it's not much fun. It's kind of a grim march. debby ocean never smiles. Neither does her sidekick. Neither does...anyone except for anne hathaway.

James Corden mercifully shows up for the final 20 minutes and is both a breath of fresh air and woefully out of place. Doesn't he know there's some serious business about uber serious nefarious women and the cast of idiot men they pull a huge heist job on? That's another reason why ths movie just isn't great.

It doesn't seem like the people they are stealing from are all that clever to begin with. a razor sharp andy garcia is nowhere to be found. ah well. they got their millions and I'm out $9.
