Review of Obvious Child (2014) by Tatsuhito K — 18 Jan 2015
As I'm typing this down, I'm recalling every single movie I saw last year, and no other movie made me smile, laugh, and broke my heart all at the same time in a way this movie did. It's heartwarming, hilarious, and very clever (the writing by Gillian Robespierre is fantastic), the characters are lovable (Jenny Slate is a new comedy goddess) and it tackles this delicate subject matter with wit and heart.
Obvious Child is a great rom-com that everyone should watch regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or religion. It proves that, sometimes, indie movies are far better than those brainless, big-budget movies.
Loved it!
