Review of Oblivion (2013) by Jon M — 15 May 2014
I honestly do not understand why everyone is having such a cow over this film; I, as a science-fiction fan, loved it. To be honest, I can't even say why I loved it. Maybe it was because of the beautiful image of a half-destroyed moon, and how the film acknowledged the traumatic ecological effects of a destroyed moon.
Maybe it was the fact that I would want to live on Earth during a time such as this, where it was just me and a female counterpart living miles above the surface of the Earth. The only real problem I had with this film is that they never showed the true face of the extraterrestrial menace.
And I mean, c'mon, that's a common annoyance amongst nerds and non-nerds alike.
