After the aliens destroyed our moon and let earth go for a tails spin, humanity won the war but had to leave earth. And the Post apocalyptic earth with vast ridges and canyons and new flowing rivers has few remnants of only iconic buildings to prove its still earth.
These are all the scenes you will enjoy in the film. The twist revealed is a stress on the brain if u bothered to pay attention.
