Review of Oblivion (2013) by Sums I — 26 Jul 2015
Visually stunning, tense and moody. This is a great dystopian, futuristic sci-fi movie - which is much better going in if you know as little about it as possible. It surprised me, delighted the senses and the story gradually unfolded as we learn more about this strange world we find ourselves in.
If you factor in the Tom Cruise effect (ie. the negative emotions around him as a person affecting rankings) this movie deserves about 20% higher score. Tom Cruise and the sci-fi genre work well together. While not as good as "The Edge of Tomorrow", this was certainly a movie worth watching.
