Review of Oblivion (2013) by Mike T — 12 Oct 2014
One of the most stunning big-screen experiences ever. Stunning plot shifts, a stunning ending, stunning visual marvels, brilliant sound, decent-good acting, and basically some brilliant and awe-inspiring ideas thrown at you, to make you think about and scratch your head at for the rest of the day.
So much fun!! I had such a good time. It was pretty amazing, one of the best movies of 2013. So good, so haunting, so brilliant. It was pretty to look at and even better to experience. One of the best movies.
In hindsight, this movie (Oblivion) was one of the best of the year, just a huge shocker of underrated goodness and brilliance. It had one of the best stories out there, unreal action, scares, thrills, a visceral and violent and creative tone, some HUGE twists (the kind you would expect from the world's best science fiction from the 1950's) and amazing acting - the perfect movie.
Oscar worthy - should be up for an Acadamy Award! One of the best of 2012, just a perfect, stunning, shifty, strange, serious and brilliant masterpiece of a movie. I thoroughly enjoyed this for being a huge shocker and a fun, fantastic, brilliant and shockingly great and memorable movie experience with just a perfect tone that nothing really has matched yet (except maybe Captain America 2 or Lucy).
