This documentary provides an objective exploration of the approaches taken by a wide variety of designers to the work of making the things we use everyday. It is easy to overlook the importance of everyday design, but if artistic design is an attempt to express the artist's conception of the world, then practical design is an attempt to make the world match the artist's conceptualization of it.
Another film by this director, "Helvetica", does a fine job of exploring textual design.
