Review of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) by Richard P — 12 Jul 2010
A humorous piece of Southern Romanticism, and the music deservedly gets a lot of praise. Very charming piece of entertainment, but I prefer when the Coens dig a little deeper. Also, this was the first movie to bring the disease of rampant Final Cut color filtering to Hollywood.
The Coens used it for good, but Hollywood has bent it to its nefarious purposes. Sigh.
