Review of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) by Joe W — 20 Aug 2011
The Odyssey was one of my favorite stories in Greek Mythology, and to see it redone in more modern terms was entertaining in itself. This movie mesmerizes you at points (i.e. the Sirens) and baffles you at others (Big Dan Teague selling bibles), and the acting is superb.
This arguably has one of the best soundtracks that I've ever heard, and the success of it was seen at both the Academy Awards and the Grammys that year, with the CD selling close to 10 million alone.
