Review of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) by Andrew D — 19 Aug 2014
"O Brother, Where Art Thou?" is a very fun movie. This is a funny, quirky, and entertaining movie that is very well directed and easy to watch. The performances are very good. The best performance in this film would have to be the one from George Clooney giving what I think is one of the best performances of his career.
The Coen Brothers direct this film with a lot of effort and make it very fun to watch. The soundtrack like any Coen Brothers film is excellent and filled with a lot of fun songs. The script is also very funny and makes you feel for the main characters.
The film is not perfect however and there are a few problems. One problem is that I thought the film got a little slow at some points. Another problem is that I would've liked for there to have been some more character development besides Clooney's character.
Also I think the Coen Brothers underused John Goodman. He is not in much of the film and I would've like to have seen more of him since he's a rest actor. Other then that "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" is still a very fun and entreating film.
I definitely could see myself watching again as it is very breezy and fun. I highly recommend it.
