Review of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) by Robin W — 19 Apr 2013
Takes place in the deep south during the depression era, were we get to follow the story of Everett, Pete and Delmar who after escaping a prison chain-gang must race against time to dig up a treasure Everett once hid.
As I personally always tend to very much enjoy odysseys I went into "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" with high expectations which the cast and Coen brothers managed to fulfill. With an original soundtrack compiled out of a broad-spectrum of country and blues subgenres, the characters move through incredible landscapes and overcome a wide selection of obstacles in true Odyssey style.
The film also have good depression era counterparts to the blind seer, the cyclops and Poseidon.
