Review of O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) by Brenton A — 15 Jul 2012
O Brother, Where Art Thou? is a difficult picture to pin down. One gets the sense that one is watching a visual version of an oral history, an illustrated version of The Odyssey set in the deep south. The cartoonish movements, the repetitive phrases, and the lighthearted tone combine with constant allusions to the greatest adventure tale of all time to give the impression of watching a master storyteller (or in this case, two of them) at work.
