Review of O (2001) by Magill F — 12 Jun 2009
This film changes so little about Shakespeare's play in adapting it, that you might as well just read or watch "Othello", because the language is infinitely more interesting. While it's an intriguing study of how the central themes of the play are easily translated to a high school setting, it seemed to me to be a rather pointless endeavor, and you're really just better off going straight to the source.
Still, I thought it was a bit better than "10 Things I Hate About You"...so there's that.
