Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Jim P — 04 Jan 2011
Resists the temptation to bludgeon its subject with sensationalism like so many other Lennon bios. Concentrating on the mundane aspects of a budding world changer makes this film tough going for those in search of Lennon's legendary wild streak.
Heartening to see a sensitive portrait of a young man coming into his own. Aaron Johnson doesn't quite escalate his performance to a Lennon but it'll do.
