Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Michael A — 07 Jan 2011
This excellent movie on the early days and the formative learning years of John Lennon was a treat to the ears and the eyes. The acting by Kristin Scott Thomas (a mom by default) and Anne-Marie Duff (as John Lennons mother) was excellent as they both portrayed woman struggling with societal norms and their "son" who was on the verge of rebelling against the system big time.
Aaron Johnson did a great job of the emotionally torn young John Lennon and with the help of a great script, photography and supporting cast did a great job of providing the foreshadowing of the future Lennon we know so much more about.
Great flick.
