You don't have to be a beatles fan but it probably helps...firstly, Johnson does a very good job of portraying Lennon and sometimes the facial expressions are bang on...although not chronilogically accurate, the movie touches on many well known bits of lore.
..leaving the legend aside, its a good movie in its own right - funny in parts, builds well, good acting (Scott Thomas in particular shines)....and I really must track down the alternative version of 'mother' that plays over the credits.
