Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Robb A — 30 Jan 2011
Best new release in DVD that's out, right now. To begin with, you've got a fascinating central character in John Lennon. Brilliant performances all around. This movie certainly provides us with insight into Lennon's backround and the development of his stage persona.
One of the ways that I always judge a movie is whether or not I'm still thinking about it the day after I've seen it. I've found that with the best films, my mind is still enjoying them, flashing on them and processing them the day afterward.
And I found that to be the case with this film which is rich in story, script, acting and has outstanding art decoration and photography. (I love the wallpaper selected for the interiors of the houses in this movie!) You can locate "Nowhere Boy" sitting atop my current film favorites.
