Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Dara D — 30 Jan 2011
This is not a movie about The Beatles, is a movie about John Lennon becoming John Lennon. It's about the complicated relationship he had with his mother and his aunt who was his guardian and how they formed him and pushed him into being who he was.
I loved it! I had read about these relationships and was already familiar with most of what happened in the movie, and this is the John I love the most. The movie was beautiful and artistic and you can really see and feel the contrast between these two women, and how torn he was inside.
