Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by James C — 31 Jan 2011
Wonderful movie. This mostly focuses on Lennon's relationship with his mother and aunt during his childhood and teenage years, as well his early interest in music and the forming of his early band The Quarry Men and how he met Paul McCartney.
I consider myself a staunch Beatles fan, and the casting for Lennon was really really good. The boy who plays McCartney seemed a little young, but he had the overall look and personality of Paul. This movie made me feel really bad for Lennon because of his childhood, I can see where some of the angst and sarcasm comes from.
Very well done.
