Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Noah S — 16 Feb 2011
Well, it's the only dramatic cinema endeavor ever to take in this early subject matter. I can see why. It's the story of a man we all feel like we knew or at least we wanted to know. And it's a very touching story.
It's really handled brilliantly by everyone involved. The actor who portrays John is fantastic. You can sense the older John Lennon just waiting to burst out of him. Every scene you feel like he may explode and destroy everything around him.
All the other actors are merely there to corral this maniacal genius and they do a bang up job of it. You sense that any one of them could be ready to crumble from the strain. Is that egg shells I hear? Tread lightly around John Lennon boys.
Loved this film.
