Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Richard B — 04 Mar 2011
An interesting biopic of John Lennon's teenage angst years. Great performances from Aaron Johnson, Kristin Scott Thomas and Ann-Marie Duff give this story a lot of heart. It's a little slow to get going but it doesn't try to overplay or sentimentalise Lennon's tough early life or make any allusions to his future fame.
In fact it doesn't even mention the Beatles at any point which is to it's credit!
