3: Just as with the film "Chaplin", this picture makes one realize how many rock star biopics must be out there waiting to be made. It also made me realize how little I actually know about The Beatles, as this is not quite how I picture John Lennon in my mind.

His mannerisms, motivations, and relationship to both the other Beatles, his family, his audience, and women did not seem terribly familiar to me. It all seemed new and different for the most part, which was very surprising.

It wasn't just fascinating because we knew where these young boys would go either; the actual relationships and plot were of interest in and of themselves. However, knowing that it is The Beatles makes it that much better.

It's hard to believe this is how The Beatles actually came together, how they learned music, and that they were ever really this young. Happily, it isn't one those films that glamorizes and mythologizes their origins: it makes it true to life and therefore demystifies it.

It makes one realize just how lucky these guys were to all find each other; it easily could have happened another way and we never would have had The Beatles. I do love Kristin Scott Thomas as well.
