Review of Nowhere Boy (2009) by Marc L — 20 Dec 2011
Nowhere Boy does a fantastic job of filling its 90 minute run time with absolutely no substance. It's one of those films that feels like everything important has been taken out an all that's left is the in between bits.
The whole film falls flat, making what should be an interesting story boring and painting Lennon as an unsympathetic ass. The actors are trying and some good performances come of it, but there efforts are undermined by excessive use of useless closeups from the director and an unsure hand behind the camera.
